Laura Brenton

Laura Brenton brings color and form together in striking ways that reflect her dance background. “My work is about beauty, mystery and connection. I love the unexpected in art and painting abstracts offers an exciting opportunity for surprise.” Laura may start with a swath of color or a simple brush stroke, “listening” to see what comes next, letting the painting express itself. Laura is an intuitive painter exploring creativity as a way to connect on a deeper level.

Laura grew up in the “Mushroom House” in Boulder, where the arts were always part of her life. She was a performing artist, has worked in film and video, and now dedicates herself to painting. Her work has been shown throughout Colorado and most recently in China. She has participated in numerous juried shows and studio tours, and her paintings are part of private and institutional collections.
